2011 Halloween Bentos

Sydney is 7.5 -year-old second grader this year. She doesn't like me to decorate her lunch too much because it is too BABYISH!!!! So, I was not too crazy doing the Halloween themed bentos like last year.
I packed two garlic breads with "creepy" picks on it, some apple slices with black cat pick and a pumpkin egg tart in the Lock & Lock container.
This was the tonkatsu (Japanese deep fried pork chop) sandwich lunch with apple slices and carrots. I also used the Halloween cookie cutters to cut out the cheese.
This was the Frankenstein Nutella sandwich, ham slices, veggie sticks, strawberry in the spider cupcake cup I bought in Target. I also threw in a spooky chocolate cupcake for Sydney.
There were pepperoni quesadilla, carrots in ghost picks, apple slices in Jack-O'-Lantern picks, and Halloween cookies in this bento box.
I made a ghost rice ball (with ketchup bleeding eyes) for Sydney on Halloween. I also packed the apple slices  in witch and Jack-O'-Lantern picks, and the cookie.

Summer 2011 Bentos

This summer both Sydney and Vienna attended to the Gymnastics camp for 7 weeks. Of course, I had to pack two bentos 4 days a week for both of them. I used the Good Bites Sandwich/Lunch Container I bought in BabiesRus.
The larger compartments could hold two silicone cupcake baking cups and a sandwich wrap, and you can pack fruits in the smaller containers.
The lunch box was less than $5 and it was easy to open for the kids.
Sometimes, I put different snacks in their lunch box. Sydney likes potato chips and Vienna loves Gold Fishes.

Farm Animals Bento

I made this bento on the day that Sydney visited Rutgers Farm with her classmates. I made a round rice ball and made pig's ears and nose with ham. I also used the candy eyeballs (you can find them in the baking section in Target!!). I also put the cow and sheep cupcake picks I bought from shopbakersnook.com.

St. Patrick's Day Bento

We moved to a new house in March this year and I haven't updated my blog since then. This morning, I finally sat down and viewed my bento pictures in the computer. I decided to pick some special bentos I made after March and write some posts.
This was the Bento I made for Sydney on St. Patrick's Day. Everything was GREEN!!!!  I made green rice ball by mixing with the green color rice seasoning mix. The egg was dyed in the green food coloring. I also packed green apple slices and broccoli in the box.
This was the colored rice seasoning mix I used. It came with 5 colors (pink, green, yellow, red and purple). You just miedx the seasoning with rice, and the rice would turn into the color. I bought the seasoning in H-Mart in Edison, NJ.
